What is the difference between a coffin and a casket?

​

Traditional coffins are the most typical choice. Caskets are larger and more rectangular than the traditional coffin. They are similar in style to the traditional wooden coffin but are rectangular and the upper half of the lid can be opened. This is most frequently used for open-casket ceremonies.
